Carrison Family Photo Shoot

In the Studio, My Family, Portraits

September was my dad’s 80th birthday and I wanted to do something special for him. Th thing is, my dad has everything he wants. He’s the guy that’s always really hard to buy gifts for. I decided this year I’d give him the gift of family memories.

My older and younger sisters were going to be in town so I thought a family photoshoot would be a fun way to all hang out and actually have some memories to take away from it. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law and little brother and his family couldn’t make it out. It’s the only thing that would have made the day perfect. I’d also love to have my dad’s wife’s kids together with us for the full family! How amazing would that be?

It’s so rare for us to all have the time off with each other. Times like this are so much fun, just to get to enjoy each others’ company and laugh… a lot.

Here is the entire group! The second image was something I really wanted to do. I set up the shot on timer and kept running back and forth. During that time I somehow cut open my finger and while holding a paper towel on it, I somehow changed my settings! Short story, I ruined the images. I am happy that I was able to get something out of them anyway. I love them.

My Dad and his wife, Laurie.

We wanted to take a picture of all my dad’s girls, but we ended up just laughing too much. We have a couple serious ones, but I like this one the best.

Just a girl, on a journey. Thankful for love, thankful for friends and family, and thankful for forgiveness. Full of passion, conviction and hope.
