About

About me:

Hello! Welcome to The Multi-ti-Purpose Room! I’m Kelley, and I live in Northern Nevada, USA.

I am a licensed Cosmetologist, who ended up working in Law Enforcement as a Police Dispatcher and later as a Deputy Sheriff.  After over 20 years of answering 9-1-1 and housing inmates I medically retired with a thirty-percent hand disability. This gave me the amazing opportunity to retrain as a photographer, and I’ve been doing it ever since! I’ve always loved art and after thinking my life was over, God opened the door to one of my true and life-long loves. Art! I love taking pictures of people and enjoy making art with my hands. My three daughters and I enjoy every medium of art and love finding ways to put them all together.

About our name:

My daughter, Amanda came home from kindergarten one day.  She was about to explode with excitement because that day her class visited the most wonderful place ever! It was the Mulit-ti-purpose room! We laughed at how cute she pronounced the name and it stayed with our family for the next thirteen years. We’ve never called it anything different. I come from a long line of women who have miss-pronounced, miss-used, and made up their own names and words for everything.  It seemed right to carry on the tradition in the naming of this blog.

Over the last thirty years I’ve spent my life learning how to navigate a home, raising children, working full time, and taking care of myself so I can keep doing it all. I’ve had three different careers while doing a lot of stuff in-between. I guess you could call me a Jack-of-all-trades.  I love learning, and sharing, and loving people. It isn’t just what I do, it’s really who I am, I just can’t help myself.

So, join me in the Multi-ti-Purpose Room! Come laugh, bake, make art, and plant some stuff with me! Come listen to my stories and join me in doing my best to make some life grow.

Blimey, this all started all those years ago 🙂 Sorry I didn’t get here sooner but it’s now in my RSS reader as a key feed. I’ve a bit of catching up to do with posts but looking forward to reading them
Congrats on the new blog 🙂

  4. Kelleylynne,
I found you from a comment you posted on another blog, and I wanted to stop by and give you (and ALL other current & former Police officers) a great big, heart felt THANK YOU!!! I appreciate all the Police Officers do to protect us all over the country! Especially now, when the sentiment is against the Police Officers in general. The police haters now days have zero clue just how dangerous it is to be a Police officer! Sure, there may be a small number of bad apples, but that is true in any profession. People just don’t understand that sometimes in the line of duty there may be occasions that the Police officer can find themselves in a life or death situation, with only 1 or 2 seconds to make that call, that could possibly end up costing their own or someone’s life. People have no common sense, and they just don’t understand…I have known a lot of police officers in my life, and I know that none of them ever want to intentionally take someone’s life, be they good or bad.
Anyway, thank you for your service, and I like your blog. If you feel inclined, please take a look at mine sometime.

    Sailor Dale…
