Hello! How excited are you for the Christmas holidays? I’m so excited, I can barely stand it! I have no idea why, because we don’t have any company coming this year, and Steve works Christmas morning, evening and New Year’s Eve, and day. I think it may be because we don’t have a house that is completely torn up this year. I’m actually starting to feel like we live in a half-way normal house. HALF-WAY…
Anyway, I decorated the house for the holidays right after Thanksgiving. Literally, the day after. My In-laws were still here and I’m sure they were thrilled as I started bringing in all the tubs and bags of new stuff. Seriously though, it was a mess. I didn’t even care, I was just so excited and couldn’t wait any longer.
For those of you who have followed me over the years, you know I’ve always had blue and green decor for the holidays. Well, the colors didn’t match anymore because I no longer have a green and blue house. I actually decided to make my Christmas decor match the house decor… huge surprise there, I know. Last year I grabbed one of my chair pillows and made everything match that. I made new stockings and spray painted old ornaments. I also dug out old stuff from when I had an orange house. Then, of course, I was forced to buy some new things. In doing that, I realized I am obsessed with red! I just want more and more red! I hope you enjoy checking everything out!
Living room:
Kitchen Garland:
The jingle bell garland. I actually bought three big red jingle bells this year to keep my collection growing.
Dining room:
I am in love with the red and white in this room. I also really love how the snow globes look in the bay window. I always used to just place them on an end table and they never really shined like that, but here they look fabulous! I didn’t really know how to decorate the light, so I threw some ornaments on it. Also, the garland is full of Snowbiz clown snowmen. PS I hate clowns, But I love these! I started collecting snowmen ornaments for this garland. There are a hand-me-downs in this room and a darling little snowman that my mom made in the 60’s, along with decorations my little ladies made when they were tiny.
Family room:
This Sliding glass door is hideous. I don’t know any other way to say it. However, who cares, just throw some junk on it!
I have a lot of random things throughout the house that just adds to the decor. A wreath, hand towels, mugs, plates, and pillows- whatever I can find!
Emma’s First Tree:
Ok, we went to Target to get Emma a tree so she could hang a bunch of old ornaments on it. When we got there, one thing led to another and the next thing we knew we were setting her up with all of her own stuff. Everything on this tree goes with Emma when she grows older and moves out on her own. I shot just a few of my favorite ornaments.
I hope you enjoyed looking at everything! I also hope you and your’s have an amazing holiday, however you decide to spend it! Merry Christmas to each and every one of us!
