Hello! I’m Still Alive!

From the Heart

Hello!

It’s been over a year since I last wrote on the blog! Wow, I seriously can’t believe that much time has passed. My last entry was May of 2017!

For those of you who have followed us here, thanks for not leaving! I’ve taken a peek at the stats, and we’ve only have a couple of days where someone didn’t visit the blog. I appreciate those of you who have checked in.

I have so much to tell you about what’s been going on! I say that like I’ve been so incredibly busy! When the truth is, I basically just shut down over the last six months. Don’t panic! I’ve been eating, sleeping and even taking showers! For those of you who follow the blog, you know what I mean.

We have completed some stuff at the ranch, but it’s been slow going. Around last fall I just stopped working on the house. I started to rest. I felt a huge sense of burn out, and stopped doing stuff. The longer it went between blog posts, the harder it was to get started again. I couldn’t think of anything interesting to say in real life, let alone write something interesting.

I feel like I’m sliding out of my funk, and I can’t wait to share what’s really been going on here.

I’ll definitely be sharing the projects and renovations we’ve been working on over the next several posts. So be sure to keep checking in!

In the meantime, here’s a recap of the last year:

Summer 2017:

Amanda, my middle daughter and her boyfriend of five years moved up to the ranch.

We did major renovations on the mother-in-law house so they could live in it.

My dermatologist found melanoma on my leg. Don’t worry, it was surface level and they were able to remove it all!

Fall 2017 :

We visited Orange County, Ca. and went to Disneyland

Family visited us.

Winston was neutered.

I joined a women’s group at church.

Winter 2017:

I cleaned and painted the garage and set up our home gym!

My Brother and his family came for Christmas.

It was cold, and it snowed.

Amanda and Emma broke up with their boyfriends. We all ate chocolate and drank tequila. PS Emma didn’t drink tequila.

Spring 2018:

STEVE RETIRED!! We threw a party in Orange County to celebrate. Then we moved him and his belongings to the ranch. BEST. DAY. EVER.

We hung a lot of shiplap.

We had a party celebrating Steve’s 50th Birthday, retirement, and welcome home!

Steve was hired at South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

Emma got a new Boyfriend.

Emma made the Cheer team at her High School.

We got a shower in the master bathroom

Family and friends visited.

Summer 2018 :

I left my women’s group.

Alix and Amanda went on a ton of adventures.

My Dad retired!

I flew to my sister, Cathy’s house and went camping.

Cathy and I were almost eaten by a bear.

Bear phobia began.

I made a friend.

We saw the Korean Band BTSin concert in LA!

Fall 2018 :

So, here we are folks!

As I was typing all of this I started thinking, I may have shut down on the work, but I certainly haven’t stopped living. There is always something to do that keeps me alive. So thankful for the family I have around me, and the purpose they give me.

I’m super excited to start sharing what we’ve done, and feeling inspired for the upcoming projects!

Let’s do this!

Just a girl, on a journey. Thankful for love, thankful for friends and family, and thankful for forgiveness. Full of passion, conviction and hope.
