I totally stole this quote from one of my photographer friends, Glyn Dewis‘s Instagram. I’ve been following him for many years now on Twitter and every other social media venue. We met over photography, and have been friends ever since. Glyn lives in the UK, and we’ve only met once in real life but I’ve been inspired by watching his career and talent grow. He and his wife, Anne have been an encouragement in my work and life.

I really believe the root of successful photography is seeing the beauty, being able to believe it, and then reflect it back to the world. Some of the hardest shoots I’ve had have been the ones where I could feel the strife and tension between family members and had to “fake it” in the images. The heart of the photographer will always show through, that is, if they’re really telling the truth.
