It’s Saturday again! As you may know I’m in love with design. I can spend an entire day looking at everything from home decor sites and magazines to Pinterest and Houzz. It’s my serious time waster. However, I never feel like I’m wasting time because I’m constantly being inspired and getting so many great ideas. These ideas lead me to plans, and we all know plans are important. I have an entire house to remodel, refurbish, and update. Many of the things we own will be wonderful in our new house, but many things aren’t going to work there. I’ve purposely put off buying or updating older furniture and decor knowing I was going to buy new stuff. I also have older pieces that I will reupholster or update so they can work in the house.
Every morning I sort through my emails and check out each design and home company’s pages just to see what is new. I often look at Joss & Main, Joybird, Wayfair, One Kings Lane, Pier 1 Imports, Pottery Barn, and any other email that is about home design. (These just happen to be what’s in the mailbox today.) This is my morning routine as I drink my coffee. I pin and screen shot the heck out of these sites. This week I found a new page. It’s called Dot & Bo. It’s not new, it’s just new to me. It has a lot of cute little things I haven’t seen on other pages.
One of the things I’ve really wanted to do is learn wood working. I’m pretty mechanical and good with my hands as far as craftiness goes and I think I’d be able to make some stuff. Over the next three years I’d really like to get some skills so I can do a lot of the finishing wood work at the ranch. Anyway, as I was looking through the Dot & Bo site I saw a lot of pieces that really inspired me to try to make on my own. I realize most people don’t want to sweat it out in the garage making things they can buy, but I just thought they were pieces I could play around with. Some of them are even crafty pieces that would be fun to make. For those of you who have no interest in making stuff they are really affordable pieces. There are a ton of cute things on their page. Check it out!
Have a great weekend! Be creative!
