I‘m sitting in my office. It’s a beautiful morning, and the birds are singing and a cool breeze is floating into the room. I looked at the window and could see the dappled light filtering in and hitting the floor as little pieces of sun light sparkles on all the edges of the glass window panes.

I’m totally taken back to a morning very much like this one. I was at Enloe Hospital in Chico, CA. I was on the ground level with a rose garden right outside my window. The window was open and the sheer white drapes were blowing in the warm summer breeze. My sister was pulling up the sheets on my bed and capturing the cool air under them, and I remember thinking how fabulous it felt.

That wonderful morning I brought my second baby girl into this world. I can’t believe all the life we’ve had in between these two mornings, yet I remember it like it was yesterday. Twenty wonderful, crazy, emotional, beautiful years! She’s my friend, my baby, my soulmate, and a woman I’d like to be like. She’s my daughter.
