February 28th Steve, Emma, and I went out to Vegas and ran the Color Run with my Brother and his family. It was such a great run! The event is not timed so there is zero stress and it was a great first race for all of our children. I also thought it was pretty awesome that our dad’s (my brother and Steve) were willing to get covered in rainbow powder and glitter for the sake of family time! I just feel like it’ll always be a great memory for all of us.
It was supposed to rain but turned out to be an absolutely perfect morning! It was the easiest race I’ve ever done, and I can’t even remember one where I was in a better mood. It really was a blast.
This is one of those times where “the best camera is the one that you have with you.” The one that was with me was my cell phone. I had no intention of getting my camera near all the dust and glitter. Being that I could tuck my cell phone away in my clothes, you are stuck looking at cell phone pictures. Enjoy!

Nora was happy for the winning of the hat! Goggles are pretty genius for this race, except for the fogging-up element.

And we’re ready! The race starts a wave every 5 minutes so the crowd is nice and spread out. We were in the second wave.

Then we saw a lot of this: The back of Mike and Nora! That tiny girl ran like crazy! She ran more than the other two kids and after a while I could see them up ahead, Mike with Nora on his shoulders, still running!

As we turned corners, we began to run into all the fabulous colors! It was so fun as we went through each color station, we became more and more colorful! The last station was silver glitter!

There was a post-it station to write what makes you happy! I wrote one and you’ll have to guess what I said…

Steve was taking this picture of me so I could send it to my sister. I’m a little curious about the guy behind me… Is it just me or are you wondering what he’s taking a picture of? A little creeperish, just saying.

These kids are fabulous and they love being with each other so much. I’m thankful Emma gets to grow up with them! I also love the Mama paparazzi shadows!
If you ever have a chance to do this race, I say DO IT! It’s so happy and fun and easy! Just an all around great time!
