I don’t know about you but when I’m sad or sick, I have a very difficult time tapping into my creative side. It feels a little like hanging on to the side of a building and in order to be creative, I’d need to remove a hand and I’m just not good enough to do it.
I didn’t even touch my camera this week. Along with recovering from our dead animals, Steve passed on a minor cold to Emma and me and since we both have asthma, we of course, took it in with gusto. So this week I post cell phone pictures that actually tell the story of our week.

After having the closure we needed with Tilly, Steve and I broke down the cage I made for her and threw it away. We boxed up all the hammy goods. Going through her cabinet and throwing away all her stuff, seriously made me have a break down. I’m was glad that was the last of it. We’ve switched over to having fun remembering all the good times we had with her.

Keeping each other company during Emma’s school hours. Shelby had some grief going on and just sat in this bed for several days.

After approval for adoptions, we met Meg, Shelby’s new sister. They hit it off and there has been a lot of running, dancing and fun for these two.

While Emma was doing school work, I had a chance to look through some of my photography books. These quotes are from a book called Wisdom by Andrew Zuckerman. The Images in the book are beautiful. It is a book of interviews are of people who have influenced our society. My cell phone pics of them are silly but the quotes are still good.

Friday we drug ourselves out to do the weekly errands. Steve and Emma often split from me to give Emma the freedom to look around. She wont go off by herself because she’s pretty terrified of being alone in a store. She always has been. Her dad stands in a lot of stupid aisles for long periods of time just so she can shop. He’s one in a million, and this proof of patience is probably the number one reason we are still married. As I was shopping for facial tissue, I walked by and saw this scene. I stood for a while watching them and listening to Emma instruct her father as to which products are the best. I even heard her ask him to text me and ask if she could buy a “tinted facial moisturizer with sunscreen” in it… (aka- foundation) The answer was no.

We spent the weekend drinking Thera Flu and laying around on the couches watching movies while wrapped in blankets. Stupid colds. Movies we watched: Wait Until Dark, Lady in the Water, Gone With the Wind, Bend it Like Beckham, and Spiderman.
PS The feature photo for this post is of Shelby and Megan under their Igloo. After posting this pic on Instagram, one of my followers said, “That’s the most frightening jello mold I have ever seen.” I laughed so hard because it totally looks like a jello mold! I could not even imagine a mold so terrible! I laughed every time I looked at it. We now call our little houses the Jello molds. Thank you baddalailama!
Wait Until Dark was so good! AWWW PIGGY LIPTHS!!!! I die.
Emma, I had a great week with you, even though we were sick, we still always have a fun time. oxoxo
