I love magazines! If you’ve followed me for any length of time you know I have a habit of pulling a ton of magazines apart for so many wonderful ideas. I pull out design ideas, inspiration ideas, travel ideas, and even ideas for cooking. I’m obsessed with a good magazine. Target has a fabulous selection, but the very best place to get magazines is at a large book store. I could spend hundreds at a Barns and Noble on magazines alone.
This week Emma and I went to Michael’s for a couple of wooden letters and spray paint for my cousin’s engagement shoot.
See? They turned out really cute.
Anyway, as we were waiting in line a couple of new magazines caught my eye. Shocker, I know. I haven’t actually seen this one before but it’s called Refresh. It’s published by Better Homes and Gardens. PS I love that company, and I can’t even tell you how much inspiration I get from their publications and TV shows. Seriously. Anyway, I hadn’t seen the magazine before so I had to buy it.
I found so many ideas that I’d like to hold on to so needless to say, I pulled the whole magazine apart and filed the pages in different categories.
Being a photographer, I’m always on the look out for things one can do with photography. There is nothing worse than paying money for a wonderful photoshoot and then just having a flash drive of the images that sit on your table for the next 5 years. Sorry folks, but making one your Facebook profile pic is just not enough.
For all of us that want ideas of what we can do with our images, here you go! You can use any images from Instagram to a professional shoot, these are wonderful ideas of how we can use those images.

How many of you have wanted to have giant black and white images of your children on your wall? I’m raising my hand right now…

I love this idea. You could put your favorite Instagram images to use in something like this. Did you notice they are printed on wood?

I recently shot an ocean image with the hopes of printing it for my middle daughter as a gift. I’ve been wanting to make a metallic print for years.

When the image is yours, you can change it’s tonality to match your decor. What a fabulous idea! Notice all the featured printer’s info!

More small image ideas. I love the thought of hanging small photos on wire, a clothes line, or metal hooks. So rustic, yet classy.
I think all these ideas are amazing, and just imagine all you could do with your own photography! I’m in!
Great Post Kel! I have that magazine too! Shocker..Huh???!! Thanks for the motivation to get my images up on the wall and out of my Mac!! 🙂
Thanks Kim! You and me both!
