After losing Tilly last weekend, Emma and I thought it would be good to go look at hamsters at the pet store. As soon as I saw the little black and white Syrian hamsters, I started to cry. There was no way I could get her a new hamster. It is just too soon for me. We were not ready to use Tilly’s cage for another pet. We still had food out all over the house waiting for Tilly’s return.
Personally, it’s still too soon for me to have another pet. I’m not that easily divided in my feels. I get that I’m way too sensitive, and I just don’t care. Emma was ready and we ended up getting her two guinea pigs. They are pretty little and young so they should be with us for the next 6 years or so. If they are healthy and well cared for they can live even longer. I’m glad Emma has these little girls to help her be busy and not sit around missing Tilly. We bought two because guinea pigs are very social and get lonely when they live by themselves. They also really enjoy their people, and I thought Emma would appreciate that. We always said, Tilly loved Emma as much as a hamster could love a person. Guineas are a lot more affectionate than that.
So, here we go, meet the girls.
Though I am sorry to hear that Tilly never returned, I am glad to see that Emma has looked forward with her new, lovable little pets. Those little gals will not find the way out of the house so easily. I know that for sure.
Good luck with Shelby and Pip. 🐹 🐹
Cute as a button.
