Saturday Inspiration 9/6/14

Favorite Things, From the Heart

That’s right, I’m a day late on my inspiration post! Aughhh!!! I’m going crazy here trying to fit in our new school routine, painting all the wood trim in my house, house hunting, photo editing and fitting in birthday celebrations between myself and my oldest daughter. I’ve had company, traveled to another state, returned home with a new life’s direction and had a general feeling of just wanting to be lazy. I’m serious when I say it’s been a very busy week. But I’m here and probably a little over inspired.

Like I said, we are looking at relocating to a different state and totally different lifestyle. I’m so excited to share this adventure with you! We are embarking on something very big here. We’re all nervous, excited, afraid, brave, and just basically wondering what the heck we’re doing! We will more than likely be buying a mini ranch in the northern state of Nevada. However, we know things can change in a day and like I’ve written before if it’s not God’s will it wont go. At least I’m praying for that.

So, without going into further details on that part, let me tell you we have been looking at homes and property and I can’t lie, the general house out there is pretty scary. I’m seeing older, dark homes with bad carpet and weird tile. I haven’t actually seen a house that I’d be happy to move right into. Then again, I’m pretty picky when it comes to my own home. As you can imagine I’ve been searching renovation posts on line and pulling tear sheets out like crazy. I’ve also been pinning like mad and scouring over the Houzz website. All of today’s screenshots are from the Houzz website.(That’s two links, try one!) I highly recommend going there and making your own account because it seems one will never run out of inspiration there!

Here is what I found this week!

This is a ranch style home. We are looking at one of these. This is a primo example of what we could do to personalize it! I'm holding tight to this one!

Being that we will be looking at about 10 acres, I really think we'll need a meeting place out back and I'm pretty obsessed with the idea of a round conversation area.

I plan to surround my "round conversation area" with these type of raised garden boxes. I want to grow food, flowers and pumpkins that I can decorate my ranch style wrap around porch with in the fall. See, I'm not kidding, I have some plans.

After looking at tall the dark homes this really inspired me! How easy it is to change the feel of a place with paint and color! Color, color, color! Love.

This is described as "Brick, Wood, and Clean White Lines." I say, "YES PLEASE!"

This is a bunk room. I am obsessed with having a bunk room. I want my nephew and niece to come and stay with Emma in our bunk room and I want to hear them talking and laughing all night long in this room. Again, I have some plans.

Thanks for stopping by! What are your plans? Are you on a new endeavor? If you could live anywhere, where would it be?!

Just a girl, on a journey. Thankful for love, thankful for friends and family, and thankful for forgiveness. Full of passion, conviction and hope.

  1. Well I forgot about my own endeavors because of those awesome ideas 🙂 I think I need to redefine them now. Unlike you, I have spent my entire life in one place and I have loved being here but change has to be a part of active life. I am looking for more life..more inspiration. Thanks for sharing this..truly a blessing.
