Over the last 10 years I’ve been busy. Duh… Full time work, three kids, college, home schooling kids, carpool mom. I just keep throwing my magazines in a pile. I keep ordering them and then throwing them in that pile thinking I’ll read them as soon as I have a chance. Seeing how I never have a chance I began scheduling magazine reading into each week. Right now I’m reading new magazines along with magazines from 2011. I absolutely love reading magazines but I do have to admit I’m not actually reading them. I’m looking at the pictures. At least 80% of my inspiration comes from pouring through my favorite magazines.
So while I’m sitting at the gym with Emma on Saturday mornings I’m looking and tearing through the pages of 3-5 magazines. I tear out what grabs me and then I file all the tear sheets under various categories in my filing cabinet so I can refer to them later on. I’ll use them when I decorate a room or want to try a new do. I refer to them when it’s time to try new recipes, or photo shoot ideas. So many of my ideas start from a picture in a magazine.
Here are five of my favorite sheets I tore out this morning. Maybe they’ll inspire you too!
