Girls’ Weekend!

Favorite Things, From the Heart, My Family

I know it’s the Fourth of July weekend and I should feel really excited about that. However, being married to someone who usually works holidays, like my husband is today, sometimes kills the excitement. I am happy he’ll be home at night though because then I don’t have to worry about him being in all the craziness of the holiday and we’ll have some celebration time together.

With that being said, I’ll tell you what I AM excited for! My Sister, Cathy is coming to my house this morning and staying the night with us. This is not a small thing because she works long hours and is always very busy! Since she works in education she usually has a little bit of time off during the summer months. This has actually become one of the things I look forward to about summer. I know I’m going to see her and I know I’ll talk to her more via the phone, hangouts or just texting. I love it.

So, today we hang out at my house and early Sunday morning she and I are driving into Palm Springs to meet our sister, Michelle and sister-in-law, Korbi. Then, the party is really gonna happen.  I can’t even tell you how much I love these women. They are one of the best things in my life. They are fabulous, smart, and hilarious. We all get along well and really enjoy being with each other. These women are the reason I love women and are the ultimate in having female friends.

I think I’m so clever because I made up a saying: God created Eve to support and be a help-mate to Adam and He made other women to support and be help-mates to Eve. I’m just saying. They laugh and cry with me and tell me when I’m being ridiculous and always cheer me on in my endeavors. My sisters are the greatest gifts ever, and I’m going to spend the next four days with them. I. can. not. wait.

I’ll keep you posted on the trouble we all get into!

PS That picture is from last year at Amanda’s graduation party. That guy in the middle is our baby brother, Mike. Lucky, right? Haaa haaa haaa, oh man, I kill me.

Just a girl, on a journey. Thankful for love, thankful for friends and family, and thankful for forgiveness. Full of passion, conviction and hope.
