It’s Saturday and I’m starting to feel like I’m at home in the new place. After the mad rush over the last two months of selling our house and moving out, it’s finally time to relax a bit. I feel like I may be taking the relax part way too seriously though. I’m feeling pretty proud of myself for enjoying it, but I feel like it’s time to get back on track. Emma starts school in a couple of weeks and we’ll back on our regular work schedule. I’d also like to get on my new house schedule and back on the work outs!
I’ve been doing some future house planning this week. I’m actually super happy that I’ve kept so many inspiration tear sheets over the years, because they are really coming in handy right now. I have a LOT of sheets and ideas and I’ve kept them pretty organized for a long time for exactly this reason. I’ve noticed my taste of design hasn’t changed much over the years. The trends I’ve liked have changed quite a bit, but the feel I always go for hasn’t.
I’ve been planning on changing up my colors and style. Since we will be in a country/rural setting and not the coast, I really want to move away from all the sandy beachy looking decor. However, as I’m looking through a gazillion design ideas I keep going back to my same color scheme! So, I’ve given myself permission to keep the colors but am really challenging myself to bring a lot more textures and warmth into my design plans. Remember, sometimes you just find what you love, and after all the colors I’ve worked with in my homes, I know these are what make me happy. Ok! Enough blah blah blah, let’s get to the inspiration!

I found this in a magazine, Matthew Mead Decorating. Here is his Pinterest

I really wanted to give you a lot of ideas today because it’s been a while, and I’m really into these. I just grabbed these pictures with my cell phone. It’s just another way for me to keep track of all my ideas. Between Pinterest, tear sheets, cell phone pics, and screen shots I have quite a “file” going! I have ideas from magazines that aren’t even published anymore.
Keep dreaming, saving and collecting, you never know when you’ll actually get to start using your ideas!
